Bastian on Top is what happens when one of Mumbai's most beloved restaurant brands decides to climb higher — literally — with a rooftop outpost that pairs Bastian's beloved menu with elevated city views and an open-air energy that the original couldn't offer.
Anisha headed up to Bastian on Top on an evening that was doing its best work — golden hour light across the Mumbai skyline, a breeze that arrived exactly when the humidity threatened to overwhelm, and a room full of people who very clearly knew exactly where they were going and had been looking forward to it all week. The Bastian Hospitality brand runs tight on standards and Bastian on Top maintains them entirely — the familiar menu is here, the quality is consistent, and the rooftop elevation adds a dimension the Bandra original lacks.
The Cauliflower Dynamite arrived perfectly coated and aggressively sauced — creamy, spicy, with a textural crunch that works better than it has any right to. 8.5/10. The Truffle Parmesan Fries are the signature Bastian side dish that has appeared on ten thousand Instagram Stories and remains legitimately delicious every time — thin-cut, truffle-fragrant, parmesan-dusted, impossible to eat just one. 9/10. The Crispy Rice with Avocado is Bastian's most Instagrammed dish and also one of its best — compressed rice crisped to order, arriving cold and precise with jalapeño heat that builds slowly. 8.5/10.
₹5,985 for three dishes including beverages. For rooftop dining with Bastian's quality standards in this part of Bandra, the pricing lands squarely in the investment-piece tier and feels worth it.
Verdict: Bastian on Top earns the elevation. It's everything that made the original great, with views and an open-air atmosphere that make it worth choosing over the Bandra flagship every time the weather cooperates. The Truffle Parmesan Fries are still the single best reason to visit.
