Gigi is the kind of restaurant where the ceiling lights are soft, the clientele is beautiful, and even a Tuesday evening feels like a special occasion — on Valentine's Day, it becomes something else entirely.

Anisha visited Gigi on the most romantic night in the dining calendar and found a restaurant that matched the occasion in every detail. The interiors are deliberately theatrical — warm amber lighting, plush banquettes, flower arrangements that justify their own photography — and the menu skews Mediterranean with a confident, global luxury sensibility. The Valentine's menu was in full effect, and the kitchen appeared to be operating at its best with the city's eyes on it.

What Anisha Ordered

The Burrata Caprese arrived impossibly fresh — the burrata centre was silky and cool, tomatoes were deeply flavoured and dressed with good olive oil and basil that had no business being that fragrant. The perfect opener for a romantic dinner. 9/10. The Truffle Tagliatelle was rich and precisely seasoned — handmade pasta with truffle shavings and parmesan that filled the table with the kind of aroma that makes neighbouring tables lean over. 9/10. The Rose Petal Panna Cotta was a Valentine's Day special that earned its place on the menu — set just right, lightly floral, with a strawberry coulis that was tart enough to cut through the cream. 8.5/10.

The Bill

₹5,717 for three courses. For Valentine's Day dining with this level of atmosphere and execution in Mumbai, the bill is entirely reasonable — comparable to any top-tier city restaurant on the same night.

HEII Score: 2/5 ★★

  • Truffle Tagliatelle is as good as Mumbai's best Italian ✅
  • Valentine's Day atmosphere is genuinely romantic without being kitschy ✅
  • Burrata is benchmark-quality and consistently excellent ✅
  • Demand outstrips capacity on busy nights — reservations are essential ⚠️

Verdict: Gigi delivers on the hype — the food is genuinely excellent, the atmosphere is worth every rupee of the premium, and the Truffle Tagliatelle alone makes it a must-visit whether it's Valentine's Day or any other night of the year.
