Mezcalita is Mumbai's answer to the question everyone in the city has been quietly asking — where do I get a proper margarita and some actually-good guac without flying to Mexico City?

Anisha arrived at Mezcalita ready to test whether Mumbai can really do Mexican, and the vibrant, festive interiors immediately set the right tone. The walls are loud in the best way — colourful, chaotic, unabashedly festive — and the menu leans into every Mexican trope with genuine commitment. Mocktails come in salted-rim glasses, the salsas range from cautiously mild to aggressively spicy, and the kitchen doesn't shy away from bold flavours. This is not fine dining — it's fun dining, done well.

What Anisha Ordered

The Classic Guacamole arrived tableside-fresh — bright, limey, with the avocado mashed just enough to have texture. The tortilla chips were warm and crispy. A flawless opener that set the bar correctly. 8.5/10. The Mushroom & Black Bean Tacos were generously filled with earthy mushroom and hearty beans, topped with pickled onions and a stripe of chipotle cream. Three tacos for the price, and all three were finished quickly. 8/10. The Watermelon Jalapeño Mocktail was the most fun drink of the meal — sweet, cold, with a slow jalapeño burn that crept up just when you thought you were safe. Absolutely worth ordering. 9/10.

The Bill

₹2,924 for three items. Mezcalita is one of the most wallet-friendly entries in the HEII Food & Beverage category, and the quality-to-price ratio is genuinely impressive.

HEII Score: 1/5 ★

  • Watermelon Jalapeño Mocktail alone is worth the trip ✅
  • Best value-for-money Mexican in Mumbai at this price point ✅
  • Vibrant, lively atmosphere — great for groups ✅
  • Food is crowd-pleasing rather than refined — not a fine-dining experience ⚠️

Verdict: Mezcalita isn't trying to reinvent Mexican food — it's just making sure you have a great time eating it. At ₹2,924, it punches well above its price tier and earns its cult status among Mumbai's going-out crowd.
