Neuma is Karan Johar's restaurant in Colaba — and it's the kind of place that offers you a complimentary dessert, and when you politely decline to keep the review honest, the gesture still makes the whole experience sweeter.
Anisha dressed in full lavender for Neuma, because only good looks for KJo's restaurant. The space in Colaba is gorgeous, the welcome was warm, and the team was incredibly attentive throughout. In a beautiful moment, the Neuma team offered to send a complimentary dessert at the end — Anisha turned it down to keep the review unbiased, but acknowledged the gesture made the whole experience feel extra special.
The "How Do You Like Them Apples" Mocktail was pretty to look at — actual apple slices designed over the glass — but the taste was simple. Fresh apple and ice having a moment together, nothing wrong, just not exciting. 7/10. The Corner (a large format savoury snack) smelled incredible and made her nervous with its size — but delivered: crispy, tangy, sweet, all the good things, with tender texture throughout and mustard sauce completing it. 8/10. The Millet and Citrus Salad looked like a bhel puri salad version — sceptical start, strong finish. Biting into candied orange, sunflower seeds, sweet then floral then crunchy. Genuinely impressive. 8.5/10. The Truffle Fettuccine looked great on the plate and tasted great in the mouth — perfect pasta texture, truffle and mushrooms complementing each other beautifully. 8.5/10. The Cottage Cheese Steak was nicely plated — crispy zucchini, mild paneer, subtle sauce, polenta adding texture. Good effort but not quite Anisha's thing. 7/10. The Milk Cake dessert tasted like a cloud made of milk — instant melt situation, mango and cream sauce doing the tango, touch of bitterness adding mystery. She wanted twenty of them. 9/10.
₹5,284 for six items in total. The Milk Cake dessert was offered complimentary but Anisha insisted on paying — because that's the deal.
Verdict: Neuma is Karan Johar doing what he does best — delivering a full experience with style, warmth, and a Milk Cake that deserves its own film. A genuinely lovely lunch in Colaba.
