Solaire

1
Brand
Solaire
Location
Santacruz, Mumbai

Solaire is Sanjay Dutt's other restaurant in Santacruz — and yes, it involves an extremely long walk before you even get to your table, which the staff confirmed is intentional.

Anisha dressed like the sunset of Dhundhkar, matching the vibe of Solaire perfectly. When she arrived and started the walk to her table, she asked the staff about it online — and they confirmed: if they told people about the walk, no one would come. Once you arrive though, you get the whole restaurant to yourself (at least Anisha did), and the space is genuinely beautiful. "You're burning calories before eating calories," the waiter told her. Fair enough.

What Anisha Ordered

The Raspberry Swizzler Mocktail had a classy look and was a genuine flavour bomb — raspberry came in strong, unexpected, and it slapped. A beautiful, refreshing fruit punch. 8.5/10. The Falafel Flatbread looked cool and unique but when you didn't get any falafel in your bite, the taste was literally flat — Lebanese approach with pita bread but honestly just okay. 7/10. The standout savoury dish was the Duo Asparagus Yosa Miso — complicated name, but it proved Anisha wrong immediately. Crispy yosa, crispy asparagus, spice hitting in steps, a genuine flavour journey. She was impressed, and that's rare. 9/10. The Solaire Eggplant was crispy as anything — KFC energy for vegetarians — but the actual eggplant flavour was completely buried under spice and other flavours. Not mad, just confused. 7.5/10. Sanjay Dutt's favourite, the Udon Noodles, were classic udon doing classic udon things — reliable but a little boring as a main course. Would have expected more dhundhkar energy. 7.5/10. The Baklava Cheesecake looked like a cigar, delivered on pistachio and balanced sweetness — a pleasant one-time dessert, not something to crave after. 7/10.

The Bill

₹5,000+ for six dishes in total. Anisha said ₹5,000 for the experience and ₹1 for the blessings.

HEII Score: 1/5 ★

  • Duo Asparagus Yosa Miso is a genuine surprise standout ✅
  • Gorgeous, intimate restaurant space with beautiful design ✅
  • Raspberry Swizzler Mocktail is a proper flavour bomb ✅
  • Food overall is solid but doesn't consistently match the premium price ⚠️

Verdict: Solaire has moments of brilliance — particularly the Asparagus dish — but as a whole, the menu plays it safe for a restaurant with this level of setting. The walk is worth it; just make sure you order the right things.
